Doane 92, York 54

The Tigers romped to a lopsided victory in their final non-conference game of the season Wednesday in York, outscoring the 3-12 Panthers 48-24 in the first half and breezing to the win.

Doane took a 20-2 lead six minutes into the game and a 27-4 advantage with 10:27 to go. York didn’t break into double figures until the 6:38 mark.

Northwestern 78, Doane 70

The Tigers got off to a brilliant start and led the ranked Red Raiders at halftime Saturday, but couldn’t hold the visitors off in the second half.

Northwestern shot 52 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored Doane at the free throw line 13-2 after halftime.

The opening minutes were all about the Tigers, however. With points from Dostal, Brittany Luettel and Morgan Dubas, Doane took a 10-2 lead.

An Ashley Daily layup kept the Tiger lead at 20-12 with 12 minutes left in the first half. Northwestern shaved the margin to two points on an 8-2 run with eight minutes left, but a Braithwait three-pointer at the 3:52 mark staked the Tigers to a 35-32 lead at intermission.

Doane came up empty on their first three trips down the floor in the second half, and that’s all the Red Raiders needed to take the lead on back-to-back jumpers from Kami Kuhlmann and Kendra De Jong.
