CRC All-Star games Friday

The annual Crossroads Conference-Goldenrod Conference All-Star basketball clashes are slated for this Friday night at Central City Middle School at the south edge of Central City.

Members of the Crossroads Conference All-Star teams were chosen by a vote of CRC coaches following the 2011-12 season.

The girls game tips off at 6 p.m. with the boys game following at 8 p.m. Players and their parents will be honored prior to each game.

Travis Weber of Shelby-Rising City will head up the CRC Girls All-Stars, assisted by Exeter-Milligan’s Jackson Krejci.

Local players on the girls team include Melanie Baxa and Ashley Hansel from Meridian and Meredith Behrens from Dorchester. Brianna Jackson of Meridian is an alternate.

Dean Filipi of E-M plays assistant to Giltner’s Matt Drew on the CRC boys coaching cadre.

Joining them will be E-M’s Brady Bristol. Fellow Timberwolves Quinten Loontjer and Jalen Maxson plus Blake Miller of Meridian are among the alternates.
