Discus duo highlights Tigers' Saturday

MARION, Ind. — Doane women’s discus throwers Ashton Henderson and Carly Henry placed fourth and fifth Saturday to headline the Tiger track and field team’s final day at the NAIA National Outdoor Championships.

Henderson recorded a best toss of 147 feet, 9 inches and Henry let loose with a 147-8 toss on her final throw.

Edwin Ronoh captured the top finish on the track for Doane Saturday when he placed sixth in the final of the 800-meter run in 1 minute, 52.29 seconds.DoaneTF_ronoh-fri1-22web

Chris Busby added an seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash final with a time of 21.50 seconds.

Also in the field Saturday, Zack Lindsley added to his third-place finish in the discus with an eighth in the shot put (55-2). Alyssa McDowell cleared 5-6 in the women’s high jump to tie for eighth.

For the meet, the Tiger men finished 14th in the team standings and the women were 24th.
