The Big Blue River near Crete was at its highest stage, 22.68 feet on Friday, May 31 according to data from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service. Flood stage for the area is 18 feet.

The Crete City Council’s Public Works Committee met Thursday afternoon in City Hall to discuss topics ranging from issues concerning a street adjacent to a proposed Catholic church construction plan to the disposition of decaying downtown properties.

Two students from Crete High School graduated from Project SEARCH and Crete Public Schools on May 17. The Project SEARCH site for Anthony Muff and Rachel Mayberger was St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln.
