Tiger softball team faces frantic schedule

The Doane softball team lost a pair of one-run games at home to York a week ago Tuesday and then swept The College of St. Mary Wednesday in Omaha in two non-conference dates last week.
The Tigers, 10-17, were unable to resume their Great Plains Athletic Conference schedule last weekend due to the severe weather and heavy rains.
Doane, 0-2 in conference play, was slated to host Northwestern Saturday. That doubleheader was canceled and evidently will not be rescheduled, while Sunday’s scheduled twin bill against Briar Cliff in Sioux City was rescheduled to Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers now face the challenge of playing the remaining 16 games on their conference slate in 13 days. Doane is scheduled to host Midland Wednesday, Dordt on Saturday and Morningside Sunday before traveling to Hastings Tuesday.
